SOLID TIMBER, PRE-STAINED CEDAR
Our shade arbors are built with #1 appearance grade cedar. Our cedar is from certified renewable forestry. We use solid timber beams and post. Our beams are generally 4×12” and our posts are 8×8”. All our joists are 2×8” in dimension compared to the 2×6” that most other companies use. We use 2×2” top level for the shade aspect.
All of our arbors are pre-stained with oil based stain. This allows for the rich color and grain to be preserved for many years. All arbor construction is accomplished using lifetime anticorrosion screws and hidden hardware embedded within the posts and beams.
We offer several trim styles, including our easily recognized three layer bender board trim. This technique of trimming out the joist ends in curved cedar sets our arbors apart. We also offer several options in post trim, including our signature double top trim or arched corbels.
Our building techniques ensure that the beauty of the cedar is not marred by bolts or brackets. In fact, our methods have set the standard in the outdoor construction industry. While many attempts have been made by other companies to duplicate our style – none have been successful!
We also have a great understanding in the application of polycarbonate roofing. We use polygal brand of polycarbonate. Covering a shade arbor with polygal provides a water resistant roof, lets the light in, and provides the protection of UV filters. Our roofing is not the less expensive corrugated material utilized by other companies but high quality sheets designed for roofing applications. We have options of tinted or clear polygal and are able to cover your existing shade arbor. We offer polygal replacement and repairs.
